In America: Cancellation of COVID-19 Testing Requirement for Travelers from China

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) confirmed that it "plans to eliminate the mandatory COVID-19 testing for travelers from China, joining other countries that have removed this requirement." Yesterday, Reuters and other media reported that "the CDC intends to cancel the testing requirement on Friday after it was implemented in early January." The agency explained that "this public health measure was put in place to protect citizens and cities in the United States as we worked to assess the extent of the increase and gain better insights into the circulating variants."
