During the traditional Mass on Easter Monday, Maronite Patriarch Bechara Boutros al-Rahi, while praying for France in Bkerke and in the presence of Ambassador Anne Grillo and members of the embassy, stated, "We pray today for the French people and their president." He added, "Without solidarity and cooperation, there will be no world or peace; the economy today does not save the world but rather tears it apart, and peace is built through cooperation and brotherhood." Al-Rahi emphasized the "necessity of restoring Lebanon to its natural position in the Arab world and on the international map."
