Lebanon's Minister of Displaced Persons, Issam Sharafeddine, stated on Monday that "information confirms that 89 percent of Syrian territory has become safe for its returning citizens." He also mentioned in an interview with "Sputnik" that "90% of Syrian citizens residing in Lebanon wish to return and are awaiting a suitable initiative from the United Nations and a Lebanese political decision, which relies on coordination between the Syrian state, the Lebanese General Security, and the Refugee Affairs Organization for the safe repatriation of the displaced."
