Northern Ireland police announced on Monday that several masked individuals threw incendiary devices and other objects at one of their vehicles as an expression of opposition to the Good Friday Agreement, which was established in Londonderry a quarter of a century ago, just a day before U.S. President Joe Biden's visit to Belfast. They stated in a report, "There are currently no reports of injuries." A Reuters image showed four young men in the nationalist-majority area of Craigavon throwing incendiary devices at a police vehicle. This Monday marks the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Good Friday Agreement, which largely ended three decades of sectarian violence in Northern Ireland. Small groups opposed to the peace accord still carry out some acts of violence from time to time there.
