FIFA announced today, Friday, that the first expanded edition of the Club World Cup, which will include 32 teams, will be held in the United States in 2025. The tournament will serve as a test for the United States before hosting the national team World Cup the following year in partnership with Mexico and Canada. The U.S. previously hosted the event in 1994. FIFA President Gianni Infantino stated: "The 2025 Club World Cup will represent the crown jewel of football for the elite men's teams."
