The Iranian Assistant Minister of Economy, Ali Fekri, the head of the Investment and Economic and Technical Support Organization, emphasized "the necessity of expanding cooperation between Tehran and Damascus in the areas of transit and electricity production." Fekri's remarks came during his visit yesterday, Sunday, to the "Al-Bukamal - Al-Qaim" crossing on the Syrian border, stating that "the transit of goods with Syria remains the missing trade link in the East-West corridor." Recently, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad discussed with Iranian Minister of Roads, Mehrdad Bazravas, new prospects for economic cooperation between Syria and Iran. They discussed how to take advantage of the available opportunities to develop relations in various economic fields, whether at the investment level, trade exchange, or in the field of energy.
