The semi-official news agency "Tasnim" reported today, Sunday, that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard detained a foreign ship carrying 1.45 million liters of smuggled fuel in the Gulf along with its crew members. Iran is struggling with widespread fuel smuggling operations, as fuel prices in the country are among the lowest in the world due to substantial price subsidies and a sharp decline in the value of the local currency.
