The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced today, Saturday, that it submitted notes to representatives of Poland and the European Union in Ukraine yesterday, Friday, describing the restrictions on Ukrainian grain imports to EU countries as "completely unacceptable." The ministry stated in a release that "such restrictions, regardless of their justification, are not in line with the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union, and with the principles and rules of the European Single Market." It added, "There are full legal grounds for an immediate appeal to resume exports of Ukrainian agricultural goods to Poland, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, and Bulgaria, as well as for continued unhindered exports to other EU member states."
