New Statement from Ogero Workers

The executive council of the Ogero union announced that it will not waive workers' rights and will not succumb to any pressures, expressing condemnation of the systematic accusations directed towards the union and the workers from any party. It calls on fellow workers to gather for a protest on Monday, March 27, 2023, at 9:30 AM at the Bir Hassan center. In a statement issued after a meeting of council members, they expressed astonishment at the disregard shown by those concerned towards the union's demands, despite two days having passed since the announcement of an open strike. They condemned what is being circulated regarding the upcoming Cabinet meeting on Monday, asserting the neglect of the union's fundamental demands, including salary adjustments and reassessments, not just temporary and inconsequential additions. The council reiterated its commitment to its primary demand, which is to improve salaries, link them to the dollar, and secure the necessary funds for maintenance and operations so that Ogero can return to its previous level of service to the nation and citizens. It is noted that everyone is aware that the centers and generators have become dilapidated and are shutting down automatically, making maintenance impossible.
