Four People Killed in Yemeni Dam Collapse

Four people drowned today, Sunday, following the collapse of a water dam in a region of Al-Mahwit Governorate, west of the Yemeni capital, Sana'a. Reuters reported local sources stating that the heavy rains and flash floods currently affecting the country caused the collapse of the Al-Auqbi Dam in the Hafash district of Al-Mahwit Governorate. The report added that the four victims were inside a mosque that was swept away by floodwaters, while nearby houses were also inundated. Authorities from the National Defense Agency associated with the Houthi group stated that one of the victims' bodies had been recovered, and rescue teams are continuing to search for the missing.
