Twitter is required by its rules to block entire accounts in response to valid legal requests, such as court orders. Investigations by Reuters indicated that the Pakistan government's Twitter account remains available for viewing and interaction from countries like the United States and Canada. Neither Twitter nor the information technology ministries of India and Pakistan have responded to Reuters' requests for comment.
