Maronite Patriarch Bechara Al-Rahi emphasized during his sermon at the Easter Mass in Bkerke that "without trust in the ruler, there is no continuity in power." He called on officials to stop undermining the state institutionally and economically, to refrain from impoverishing citizens, and to remove the labels of incompetence and failure from them. He added, " MPs, look for a person to elect as president and move past confusion and waiting for a code word." He affirmed that "Lebanon needs a president who earns the trust of his people."
