In light of the health conditions related to the spread of cholera and to prevent its escalation, Interior and Municipalities Minister Judge Bassam Maulawi issued a decision assigning all governors to oversee the full implementation of the decisions issued by the relevant ministers concerning cholera. The governors are also tasked with monitoring developments, as well as tightening control over all water sources and tankers.
Reports must be submitted daily by the Disaster Management Operations Room in each governorate to the Disaster Risk Management Unit in the Council of Ministers, detailing the measures taken by each governorate within its jurisdiction. Attached is a detailed breakdown of the decision issued by the Interior Minister and examples of the tables that will include: tankers, wells and their intended use, and water retail outlets for monitoring and ensuring their safety.
