U.S. President Joseph Biden congratulated "Israel and Lebanon on officially concluding their agreement to resolve the long-standing maritime border dispute." He stated in a message: "I am proud, and today the parties took the final steps in Naqoura for the agreement to come into effect, with the final papers submitted to the United Nations in the presence of the United States." He added: "As I said when this historic agreement was announced, it will secure the interests of both Israel and Lebanon and pave the way for a more stable and prosperous region. The United States will continue to work as a facilitator as the parties fulfill their commitments and implement this agreement. Energy—especially in the Eastern Mediterranean—should not be a cause of conflict but rather a tool for cooperation, stability, security, and prosperity. This agreement brings us one step closer to achieving a vision of a safer, more integrated, and prosperous Middle East, which will provide benefits for all the peoples of the region."
