The head of the Lebanese Forces party, Samir Geagea, stated that municipal elections are now entirely up to the government, considering that the argument used by some to delay them under the pretext of funding is "not valid." He pointed out, in a tweet on Twitter, that the government can, through a regular decree, as it has done throughout the past year, spend a few million dollars from special drawing rights to hold the municipal elections, adding: "No one can excuse the lack of funding."
