Greek Conservatives Lead Parliamentary Elections

Early official results show that conservatives in Greece are leading a rerun of the parliamentary elections on Sunday, ahead of the left, which could enable them to achieve a clear victory. The results, after counting and tallying 24.6 percent of the votes, indicate that the conservative New Democracy party, led by former Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, is leading the elections with 40.5 percent of the votes, while the left-wing Syriza party, led by Alexis Tsipras, has garnered 17.9 percent.
