The United Nations announced today, Friday, that more than 2,400 people have been killed in Haiti since the beginning of the year due to gang violence. Ravina Shamdasani, spokesperson for the UN Human Rights Office, stated in Geneva: "Between January 1 and August 15 of this year, at least 2,439 people have been killed and 902 others injured due to gang violence."
