A security source revealed that the Director General of the Intelligence Service, Dia Al-Moussawi, has surrendered to the judiciary and is wanted in the case of the theft of tax trust funds, known as the "Theft of the Century." The source told "Baghdad Today" that "Al-Moussawi voluntarily surrendered after negotiations and judicial efforts without any political or governmental interference." The source further disclosed that "the accused did not leave Iraq during his period of evasion and was hiding in one of the Iraqi provinces." It was noted that Al-Moussawi is "currently detained by an important security entity, and the investigation with him began immediately after he surrendered yesterday morning." The judiciary issued an arrest warrant for Al-Moussawi on November 11 of last year on charges of accepting bribes "in exchange for work related to his official duties."
