The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that Paris "does not have any candidate in Lebanon" for the presidency. Spokesperson Anne-Claire Legendre stated during a press conference, reported by "Al-Markazia": "It is up to the Lebanese to choose their leaders," referring to the message Paris has conveyed in recent months. She emphasized that "Lebanese parties must take responsibility and break the political deadlock to swiftly elect a new president," noting that the vacancy "casts a shadow primarily on the Lebanese people." She added: "It concerns electing a new president and forming a fully empowered government capable of implementing the urgent reforms needed by Lebanon and the Lebanese people in the face of the serious crisis they are experiencing." The ministry indicated that France is conducting "extensive communications with various Lebanese political entities."
