According to the Asian News International (ANI) on Sunday, nine people have died and 11 have been hospitalized following a gas leak incident in Ludhiana, Punjab, India. Punjab lawmaker Rajinder Pal Kaur Chhina stated that "a team from the National Disaster Response Force visited the site with a team of experts to determine the cause and source of the leak." She explained to Reuters over the phone that "the incident occurred near a dairy shop and a doctor's clinic, but we cannot confirm exactly where the leak originated from." She added that "people who had come to buy milk in the morning lost consciousness in front of the store."
