The EU's foreign policy chief, Josep Borrell, called on Turkey today to address shortcomings in the electoral process, as highlighted by the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). In a statement, Borrell noted, "We acknowledge the preliminary findings and conclusions of the international election observation mission from the OSCE and the Council of Europe, and we urge the Turkish authorities to address the mentioned shortcomings." He added, "The European Union places utmost importance on the necessity of conducting transparent, inclusive, and credible elections in a level playing field."
