The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces acknowledged in a periodic report released late Wednesday night that Russian forces have achieved a degree of success in their attempts to storm the city of Bakhmut. In southern Ukraine, Rafael Grossi, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, noted a significant increase in the number of troops around the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, which is occupied by Russia, making it no longer possible to protect it. The city of Bakhmut and the surrounding towns in the Donetsk industrial region in eastern Ukraine have been a focal point of attack for most of the Russian invasion that began 13 months ago.
