The Bahrain Victorious cycling team announced today, Friday, the death of their Swiss cyclist Gino Mäder, following a collision with a ravine during the descent towards the end of the fifth stage of the Swiss race on Thursday. The team added in a statement, "Despite the tremendous efforts made by the staff at the Kour Hospital, Gino was unable to overcome his greatest and final challenge, and at 11:30 AM, we said goodbye to one of the shining lights of our team."
