A large fire broke out on an offshore platform operated by the Mexican state oil company Pemex off the southern tip of the Gulf of Mexico, resulting in several injuries and at least two fatalities. Pemex confirmed that it has "accounted for all other workers," adding that "oil production suffered significant damage due to the fire." A total of 321 out of 328 personnel working on the sprawling platform were evacuated.
