Beirut Governor Judge Marwan Aboud chaired a meeting of the sub-security council in his office at the municipal palace. Attendees included a representative from the Beirut appellate prosecutor's office and officers representing all security and military agencies.
The discussion revolved around the security situation in the Beirut governorate, combating street begging, and the importance of maintaining public stability and reassuring citizens. The participants emphasized the "community police concept," stating that it is the duty of every citizen to report any security disturbances to the security forces at any time by calling 112. They also stressed the need for "patrols and temporary checkpoints, in coordination between Beirut police, mobile forces, and various security agencies," and to intensify night patrols of the Beirut Guard in various streets of the capital. Full coordination between different security and military agencies was highlighted, along with completing the street lighting in Beirut in partnership with the private sector and repairing surveillance cameras and providing them with power, as this would have a significant impact on reducing crime rates.
