Twitter CEO Elon Musk announced on Saturday that the social media platform will allow media publishers to charge users on a per-article basis with a one-click payment, calling it a win for both public and media institutions. Musk added that this feature, which will launch in May, will make users who do not subscribe to a monthly plan pay a higher price for each article they encounter and want to read. Musk clarified on Friday that Twitter will take a 10% cut of content subscription revenues after the first year, emphasizing that the company will not deduct this percentage from revenues during the first twelve months. He noted that this includes subscriptions for long texts and hours-long video segments.
