Assad Heads to Jeddah Today to Participate in the Arab Summit

The Syrian presidency announced in a statement that "President Bashar al-Assad will head today, Thursday, to the city of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to attend the Arab summit taking place tomorrow, Friday." Saudi Arabia extended an invitation to the Syrian president to attend the summit after Arab countries agreed to restore Syria's full membership in the Arab League, following a 12-year suspension.
