Crime Shakes Turkey: Syrian Girl Murdered in Well

A murder committed by a local against a Syrian girl who was not yet nine years old has shaken the Turkish city of Kilis. Turkish media circulated details of the crime that took place last Wednesday evening, after Turkish police teams found the body of the Syrian girl, Ghina Marjemak, discarded in a water well inside a house adjacent to her family's home in the "Okchlar" neighborhood of Kilis in southern Turkey. Syrian television reported that Ghina, from the town of Huritan in rural Aleppo, had been missing for two days while returning from school with her classmates, who confirmed that she returned with them to the neighborhood. Following the report of her disappearance, police teams conducted extensive search operations in the area.
