Interior and Municipalities Minister in the caretaker government, Bassam Mawlawi, affirmed that "our relationship with Saudi Arabia has not and will not be severed, and we are fulfilling our duties fully for the benefit of the Lebanese people." After meeting with Saudi Ambassador Walid Bukhari at his residence in Yarzeh, Mawlawi expressed his happiness "to meet with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which supports Lebanon and encourages the election of a president for the republic as soon as possible."
