Notably, Sokhnouri, who is also referred to by the judiciary as "Alex," was arrested by Interpol in Malaysia in 2020 and was subsequently extradited to Iran.
The news outlet "Mizan" reported that "Sokhnouri, known as Alex, was leading a network for escorting and smuggling Iranian women and girls to certain countries in the region." The site added: "Sokhnouri was executed this morning on charges of human trafficking for the purpose of prostitution."
