The Iranian embassy in Saudi Arabia reopened its doors today, Wednesday, for the first time in seven years. This step came just hours after the Iranian Foreign Ministry announced the arrival of a technical delegation to the Kingdom to facilitate the reopening of the embassy. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanani stated in a statement, "The Iranian delegation will take the necessary measures in Riyadh and Jeddah to resume the activities of the embassy and the consulate general." It was previously reported that the Saudi Foreign Ministry had sent a technical delegation to Iran on Saturday to discuss the procedures for reopening the Saudi embassy in Tehran and the consulate in Mashhad.
