Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council Secretary Oleksiy Danilov acknowledged that "Kyiv's soldiers are killing in defense of NATO countries," urging the alliance to "hear Ukraine's voice and recognize this truth." Danilov stated, "Ukraine needs to show this to the West to make them understand that Ukrainians are defending NATO countries, including the Baltic states and Poland, not just themselves." He added, "Today, we are fighting for them, sacrificing our lives, and this needs to be said to them loudly." He also mentioned that "more Ukrainians support starting negotiations to achieve peace with Russia."
