Saudi Arabia Launches "Hajj and Umrah Prosecution Office" - What Are Its Goals?

The Saudi Attorney General Sheikh Saud bin Abdullah Al-Mu'jeb inaugurated the "Hajj and Umrah Prosecution Office" next to the Grand Mosque in Mecca, which is responsible for the legal protection of pilgrims and addressing criminal offenses during the performance of Hajj and Umrah rituals, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA). The agency added in a statement that the "Hajj and Umrah Prosecution Office" is tasked with conducting legal procedures related to criminal offenses that may violate the rituals or harm the Holy Mosque, ensuring that pilgrims enjoy the rights and guarantees afforded to them, and activating the role of justice.
