U.S. Treasury Reaches Settlement with Microsoft

The U.S. Department of the Treasury announced on Thursday that it has reached a settlement with Microsoft regarding apparent violations of sanctions committed by the tech giant. In a statement, it clarified that Microsoft agreed to pay approximately three million dollars to settle the matter concerning its potential civil liabilities for over 1,300 violations of sanctions imposed on Cuba, Iran, Syria, and Russia, which included exporting services or software from the United States to the sanctioned countries.
