The S&P 500 index closed lower today, Friday, as Microsoft's stock declined while comments from two officials of the Federal Reserve dampened optimism about the bank nearing the end of its aggressive interest rate hike campaign. The S&P 500 fell by 0.36% to close at 4409.84 points, while the Nasdaq Composite dropped 0.68% to 13689.57 points. The Dow Jones Industrial Average decreased by 0.31% to 34301.36 points.
