Sullivan: The U.S. Continues Communication with Iran

White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan confirmed that "the Saudi-Iranian agreement is positive in de-escalating tensions in the region, which is a good thing." He pointed out that "the United States is not in a position to mediate between Saudi Arabia and Iran."

He continued, "There is no agreement on a prisoner exchange with Iran at this time, and the United States continues to communicate with Iran about how to return the Americans unjustly detained there to their homeland." He added, "There is no agreement. The last thing we want to do is give false hope to the families who have long been waiting for their loved ones to come home."

He stated, "Biden is coordinating with Britain regarding the banking crisis." He announced that the United States, Australia, and the United Kingdom will collaborate to build a generation of American nuclear-powered submarines of the "Virginia" class, with the possibility of purchasing two more.
