Childhood Dreams in Lebanon... on the Sidewalk!

Activists on social media expressed sympathy for a widely circulated image of two children sitting alone on a sidewalk at night, coinciding with the drop in temperatures in the southern suburbs of Beirut. Lebanese individuals described the circulated photo, taken by Lebanese journalist Zeinab Barjawi, as a "scene beyond humanity," holding official authorities and relevant bodies responsible for what poor families are experiencing in the country. They pointed out that the sight of the children on the street reflects the rampant corruption in the country. Bloggers called on security authorities to act and investigate why the children were in the street along the road to Beirut Airport.
