Prohibition of Cypriot Company "TUS AIR" from Flying in Lebanese Airspace

Prohibition of Cypriot Company

The Director General of Civil Aviation, Fadi Hassan, announced the prohibition of the Cypriot company "TUS AIR," which is owned 49.9% by the Israeli company "KNAFAIM HOLDINGS LTD," from flying in Lebanese airspace and landing at Rafic Hariri International Airport - Beirut, until further notice. This decision will remain in effect until recommendations are made following the upcoming conference of regional office liaison officers regarding the boycott of Israel and prohibiting dealings with the mentioned company, based on the letter from the General Directorate of Economy No. 2023/598.

Hassan sent a letter to the General Directorate of Economy and Trade, indicating the receipt of a message from the Cypriot Civil Aviation Authority appointing "Tus AIR" to provide air transport services between the Republic of Cyprus and the Republic of Lebanon, based on the air transport agreement between the two countries dated April 11, 2017. It was found on the internet that the mentioned company is owned, or part of its shares belong, to an Israeli company. The General Directorate of Civil Aviation referred the file to the General Directorate of Economy and Trade to verify the company's status, especially since the General Directorate of Economy and Trade had previously requested to refrain from dealing with similar companies, the last of which included the two Ukrainian companies "AEROSVIT AIRLINES" and "UIA."
