U.S.: Iran Tested Suicide Drone in the Gulf

An American official indicated that Iran tested the launch of a suicide drone aimed at one of its training ships in the Gulf and fired a missile or another drone without warning ships in the area. The official, citing U.S. intelligence information, stated that "the drone was launched yesterday, Wednesday, from the Iranian region of Jask to a distance of between eight and nine miles into the sea within Iranian territorial waters to target the training vessel." He added, "It was primarily training to strike commercial ships. This is the only reason to do that in the Gulf of Oman," confirming that "the closest commercial ship was approximately 30 miles away from the vessel, but it is still dangerous."
