Tesla's website reported today, Sunday, that the Model S and Model X are not available for order in some countries in the Asia-Pacific region, including Australia, Thailand, Singapore, and New Zealand. It noted that other Tesla models, such as the Model 3 and Model Y, are available in these countries.
The reason for the unavailability of these two models is not immediately clear.
The electric vehicle manufacturer recorded unprecedented deliveries in the first quarter from January to March, but deliveries of the higher-priced Model X and Model S decreased by 38%. Tesla is significantly reducing prices on some of its models this year in the markets to increase demand amid intensifying competition among electric vehicle manufacturers worldwide.
