The head of the private school teachers' union, Ni'ma Mahfoud, confirmed that "the official exams are 99 percent certain to proceed regardless of the circumstances," stressing that "the educational sector cannot be destroyed after four years of paralysis." Mahfoud, in an interview with "Voice of Lebanon," pointed out the "great tragedy we are living through with low salaries, issues with banks, and the grant provided by the government that has not yet reached the pension fund." He indicated that "at least 50 percent of our salary should be in dollars next year," revealing that according to estimates, "over 40 percent of employees in the sector are preparing to migrate this year."
