The National Institute of Health in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, confirmed the discovery of the first case of monkeypox. The Pakistani Ministry of Health stated in a statement that a traveler who recently arrived in Pakistan tested positive and was isolated in a hospital in the capital along with others undergoing examination. The National Institute of Health added that there is no evidence of local transmission of the viral disease.
