Tunisian Coast Guard recovered 15 more bodies of migrants today, Thursday, bringing the total number of fatalities due to a shipwreck off Tunisia to 25. The spokesperson for the Tunisian National Guard, Major Hosam al-Din al-Jbabli, stated, "The Coast Guard recovered the bodies of 14 migrants, including six women from African countries, and one Tunisian who was the captain of the vessel." The European Union's border agency noted that the number of individuals attempting to reach the bloc via the Mediterranean in the first three months of 2023 has increased to three times that of the previous year.
