Former President Michel Suleiman briefed Maronite Patriarch Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi in Bkerke on the presidential initiative agreed upon during the "Meeting of the Republic." This initiative emphasizes the support of parliamentary blocs for the presidential candidate who publicly commits to working on implementing the following points:
1. Neutralizing Lebanon from regional conflicts as outlined in the "Baabda Declaration" and restoring relations with Arab countries to their previous state.
2. Establishing a timeline to confine arms to the Lebanese state within a maximum of 18 months and agreeing on the command of their use during the transitional period.
3. Creating a Senate concurrently with the formation of a national body to abolish political sectarianism, which is a fundamental national objective according to the Constitution.
4. The leadership of the body in consecutive meetings to develop a phased plan for abolishing sectarianism in accordance with Article 95 of the Constitution, ensuring alignment with Paragraph "Y" of the preamble of the Constitution.
5. Approving expanded administrative decentralization and affirming the independence of the judiciary in line with the principle of separation of powers.
