Man Arrested After Video of Theft Goes Viral

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division, issued a statement today, Monday, stating: "In the framework of combating the increasing motorcycle thefts in areas of Beirut, and following the circulation of a video showing a person stealing a motorcycle in the Museum area on one of the online platforms, dated March 5, 2023, in the Khayat Hill area, and as a result of intensive investigations, a patrol from the Beirut Investigation Unit was able to arrest the suspect, identified as M. Y. (born in 1996, Lebanese nationality), and seized the stolen motorcycle of the 'Sweit' brand. Tools used in theft operations were also found in his possession." The statement continued, "The motorcycle was returned to its owner, and the arrested individual was handed over to the relevant unit for further investigation, based on the instructions of the competent judiciary."
