The White House stated that U.S. President Joe Biden spoke on Monday with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni about the short-lived rebellion by a private Russian military group against the Kremlin and invited her to visit the White House in July.
The statement highlighted that "Biden spoke with key allies regarding events in Russia, and the phone call with Meloni was part of this effort. The two leaders reaffirmed their steadfast support for Ukraine during the call."
It also noted that "Biden and Meloni discussed preparations for the NATO summit in Vilnius next month and the recent developments in North Africa."
