Human Rights Watch announced that armed men killed at least 20 people this week in an ambush set in western Democratic Republic of Congo. The non-governmental organization dedicated to human rights said the ambush was carried out on Monday by armed members of the "Moubondo" group, targeting a truck carrying traders from the Tiki community near the village of Moluno in the Kwango region, northeast of Kinshasa. Human Rights Watch stated on its website that "the attackers later set the vehicle on fire," indicating that Congolese security forces conducted operations but "failed to put an end to the violence."
