The Kuwaiti Cabinet decided today, Wednesday, to raise a draft decree setting June 6 as the date for the upcoming parliamentary elections, according to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA). The Cabinet submitted the draft decree to the Crown Prince, who holds most of the emir's powers. Additionally, the Cabinet decided to suspend work in all ministries, government agencies, and public institutions on the polling day, designating it as a day of rest. The elected National Assembly from 2020, which was reinstated by the Constitutional Court in March, was dissolved by an emirate decree on Monday, returning the matter to the people to choose their representatives again.
