The Shepherd's Scream... Enough is Enough

The stance of the Maronite Patriarch Mar Bishara al-Rahi during the Christmas sermon was striking, as he spoke about a plot targeting Lebanon through the obstruction of electing a presidential candidate, which would strip Lebanon of any legitimate authority. He accused some of working to dismantle the Greater Lebanon state and reiterated the demand for the election of a president, calling for an international conference for Lebanon under the auspices of the United Nations.

Bishop Paul Sayyah, in a conversation with the electronic newspaper "Al-Anbaa," pointed out that "Al-Rahi's position is clear and leaves no room for interpretation. We support him one hundred percent. Al-Rahi did not say this until the situation became unbearable, as he speaks on behalf of the people, who can no longer endure. The dollar is nearing 50,000, and the population no longer has the capacity to cope with this increase and its effects on all aspects of life. Therefore, it is crucial to elect a president and to keep Lebanon away from regional conflicts."
