Captagon Pills Hidden Inside Sunflower Seeds in Lebanon

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement:

A. A. (born in 1998, Lebanese) arrived as a delivery worker to bring supplies to the inmate in Baabda Prison (R. A.). During the search, security personnel at Baabda Prison, part of the regional gendarmerie unit, found three bags of "sunflower seeds." Upon inspecting the seed shells, a quantity of narcotic pills of the types Captagon and Benzhexol was discovered, divided into halves or more.

The two detainees, along with the seized items, were placed in the custody of the Regional Drug Enforcement Office in Tripoli within the Judicial Police unit for further investigation based on the directive of the competent judiciary.
